Roscoe, Esq."; Inscribed on front free end-paper: "Given to Richard D Holt by Henry Yates Thompson March 1904": Thompson 1838-1928) was the proprietor of the Pall Mall Gazette and made a famous collection of manuscripts, Holt (1868-1941) was a right-wing Liberal politician and MP for Hexham; Hardback: late nineteenth century red cloth decorated in gilt on spine, yellow end-papers; Title-page stained, 4 leaves a little torn (no loss), a vg copy of a scarce tightly-bound ephemeral item.
