Wellington: New Zealand Scenery Publishing Co, 1890. Oblong quarto. Original, saddle-stapled and illustrated wrappers; 16 leaves of photographic plates, recto only. Part I of what we understand was a 24 volume set, which was also published in a complete edition as well. This issue with photographs of Wild Pigs at Parnassus, Amuri; The "Skippers" Wakatipu; The Rimutake Railway; Wool Wagon, Cheviot; Cathedral Square, Christchurch; Port Chalmers; The Waimakariri Gorge Bridge; Jackson's (Perry Range Hotel); Heathcote Valley; Lyttelton; The Tramway, Teremakau; McDonalds, Teramakau; The Clinton Hut; Lake Ada; The Mountain Lily; and Napier. Some wear and foxing to covers; crown bumped and chipped; closed tear to the top of rear cover; internally clean. A Very Good copy of this fragile item. We find no single issues of any part currently for sale in the trade (Dec. 2015).
