About This Item
Houghton, Mifflin and Company. Poor with no dust jacket. 1896. Hardcover. Hardcover is heavily worn with water damage and staining throughout, mostly to the margins. Cloth on board covers and spine are worn along the edges. The remains of a sticker is attached to the front cover. Gilt text on spine is faded, but still legible. One gift inscription is written on the front fly page and is signed Mary C. Coyle (unknown if any relation to the author, however the copyright was held by Mary Cushman Coyle) and is dated Nov. 16, 1897. That gift inscription was crossed out with a green pencil and another owner wrote their name on the inside of the front cover. Binding is loose but no pages appear to be missing. The title page is loose from the binding about half way down the page but is still attached at the bottom. A program from a church service at the First Congregational Church on January 6, 1907 is tucked inside the back cover. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 249 pages .
