Vol one has 1052 Pages + the 1856 Supplement of 221 Pages. Vol Two has 414 Pages + Pronouncing Vocabularies of Greek and Latin Proper Names, Scripture Proper Names and Modern Geographical Names. Pages in very nice condition, only a feww spots of foxing. Hinges Reinforced. Spines have been carefully repaired. Bookplate of James Mead, Curator Emeritus of Marine Mammals at the Smithsonian, with two small slips of his manuscript notes laid in. The work was first published in 1850 and as such was the first British dictionary to base itself on Webster. This edition not in Vancil or Kennedy.
