About This Item

Edinburgh: A. Fullarton & Co.. Hardback. Very Good. Undated Imperial edition two volume hardback set, c.1860, in the original full tan leather binding: boards with decorative cross-hatched embossing and gilt tooling to edges; spines with five raised bands, red and black gilt title labels and gilt decoration. In overall very good used condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - boards rubbed and slightly marked with a couple of corners worn. Bindings tight and appear almost unopened - hinges sound. Internally clean, no annotation or inscription - ownership signature neat to reverse of front endpaper in each volume; tinted page-ends slightly faded but text, marbled endpapers and illustrations (some folding) bright and clear throughout. Particularly attractive, this set is both large and very heavy at over 4kg packaged - additional postage may be required if shipped outside the UK. Photographs available. Not an old library book.

About Hall of Books

We sell secondhand books and sheet music online and offer an eclectic (perhaps eccentric!) selection ranging from modern first edition hardbacks and quality paperbacks to the interesting, unusual and rare; the hard-to-find, collectable and out-of-print....and a lot more in between! We do our best to describe and photograph our books and music accurately, and to package them securely when they sell. We do not rely on stock images. If you need more information on a particular item, or if we have not yet uploaded a photograph for a particular listing, please contact us and we will respond by return.
