Contemporary full Florentine vellum souvenir binding, gilt decoration & ruling on covers, gilt decorated & lettered spine, marbled endpapers, died red textblock (slight shelfwear), still NF bright copy, w/ former owner’s bookplate on recto of front flyleaf. An exceptional extra-illustrated Florentine vellum binding souvenir edition of Andersen’s first work, a semi-autobiographical novel of life and travels through Italy with charming descriptions of towns, regions, all wonderfully captured in contemporary albumen photos.
