Copenhagen: Rosenkilde & Bagger, 1987. First Edition. 8vo. 245 pp., 8 color plates, 18 reproductions in the text. Original illustrated boards, dust-wrapper (a bit frayed along top and bottom edge, 1" tear at the foot), binding and text immaculate. NOT ex-library! INDISPENSABLE GUIDE TO EARLY DANISH BOOKS. A most useful compilation, based upon the detailed bibliographical notes left by Volmer Rosenkilde (d. 1980). Careful descriptions of 306 books printed in Denmark (including the first book printed in Denmark, the "Breviarium Ottoniense" printe by Johan Snell in 1482), and by Danish authors outside Denmark, with locations of copies and many prices realized at auction. The edition was limited to 750 copies, and was presented by the Danish Antiquarian Booksellers' Association to the XVth International Association of Bibliophiles Congress in Copenhagen in 1987.
