London: Thorpe imprint "for the Proprietor", 1856. Book. Illus. by 22 steel engravings by Wm. Daniell. Very Good. 3/4 Leather. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Very good contemporary 3/4 dark green morocco with all edges gilt, marbled boards and marbled endpapers. No prior owner marks and no foxing or stains inside. Very clean and tight. No edge wear to the binding, and the gilt title and decoration on the spine are bright. An exceptional copy since there is NO foxing. .
