Bombay.: Government of India: Tourist Division.. No date. Ca. 1950.. Brochure 9 x 4 inches unfolding to a sheet 27 x 28 inches with text and a variety of photos on one side and on the other a large 20 x 21 inch map depicting the major roads, air routes and railways of India together with outline regional maps relating to the North, South, and North East portions of the country. A small circular map depicts sea and air routes from India to the rest of the world. There is a small area of paper loss in map along a fold, and a presumed botch in the initial publishing has been "corrected" by a paste-on printed patch approximately 1 x 1 ½ inches. Depicted in Assam in the Eastern portion of the country is the Kaziranga Game Sanctuary, renamed the Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary in 1950 to emphasize the concept of conservation as opposed to hunting, Reference is also made to the state-owned airlines, which date from 1953, hence a circa 1950s publication date is likely. The map is in good clean condition, marred only by the patch in the Western portion of Assam. .
