New York: Harper & Brothers, 1841. Very Good Hardcovers. Very Good/No Dust Jacket As Issued.

Rebound in modern 1/4 leather over cloth, renewed endpapers. Bindings are very tight and square. Text clean, light even toning, some light to moderate foxing or minor soiling in places. Moderate shelf handling wear. 16mo; 6.25 inches tall. Engraved tissue-guarded frontispiece in the first volume. 2 volumes. Later printing.. Thatcher was a Boston antislavery leader, opposed the policies of Garrison and urged African repatriation. In addition to his Memoir of Phillis Wheatley (1834), he wrote other books on blacks, and was also known for his Indian Biography.
