Walton, Printer, 1818. 12mo.  160 x 100 mm., [6 ½ x 4 inches].  142, [2] pp.  Contemporary calf, worn.  Paper stock brown with age, edges of preliminary leaves and final leaves with small tears to edges; a few leaves with minor paper repair; wanting from free endpaper.  Library label marked discarded. Famous Indian captivity, reported by Zadock Steele who was taken by British forces including a party of nearly 300 Mohawk Indians.  He was taken Canada, imprisoned for two years and finally escaped.  His account of the burning of Royalton comprises the first forty-eight pages of the narrative.  Sabin, Dictionary of Books Relating to America, 91164.  Howes, U.S.Iana S930 "aa".  McCorison, Vermont Imprints 2045.  Eberstadt 136:306.
