Infantry Attacks is a classic book on military tactics written in 1937 by then-lieutenant colonel Erwin Rommel, about his experiences in World War I. In this book, Rommel critiques his own strategies in an attempt to learn from his losses and victories. The book was an immediate success, and is mostly the reason why Hitler gave Rommel high command in WWII (Rommel was a highly professional soldier, not a Nazi). It was widely studied by military students, General Patton among them.
In 1990, it was re-issued by the British publisher Lionel Leventhal, this time with an introduction by Rommel's son Manfred. It is a 'new edition'; it is unclear if there is any new information. The book was simultaneously published in Canada—this is one of the Canadian copies, and it is the copy sent to the Vancouver Sun for review. The journalist who reviewed it gave it to her father and inscribed the front endpaper. On the other side of the front endpaper is the stamp 'Review Copy'.
It is 265 pages, including all of Rommel's own illustrations.See photos of Table of Contents.
Unclipped dust jacket with no shelfwear.
Other than the inscription and darkening of the paper, it is in pristine condition, with no marks of any kind in it or on it.
