About This Item

Headley Brothers, London, first edition, 1950. Cloth, gilt cover-title, 8vo, 22 cm,. 23 pp. From the introduction: " There is nothing that I can add to the details of Harvey's life given by my predecessors, nor shall I attempt to prove that Harvey was a paediatrician, although parts of De Generatione show an interest in paediatrics. My concern is with his contemporaries, particularly Glisson, Mayow, Browne and Sydenham, and their contributions to the study of children in health and disease.
