Chase Revel, who started Entrepreneur Magazine in the 1970s, was a leading purveyor of goods and services related to the swift acquisition of wealth. In 1966 he was sentenced to four years in prison under his given name, John Leonard Burke, for attempting to rob four banks in Houston in one day. In 1979 he famously registered the trademark for "entrepreneur" and thereafter engaged in frequent litigation to enforce it. Prior to starting Entrepreneur, Revel issued his Insider's Reports of small business opportunities and exposed schemes designed to separate would-be businessmen from their cash..
