Title continued, "With a Seasonable Hint and Perswasive to the Honorable The Court of Directors of the East India Company. As Also The Mythology and Cosmogony, Fasts and Festivals of the Gentoo's, followers of the Shastah. Andl A Dissertation of the Metempsychosis, Commonly, thourgh erroneously, called the Pythagorean Doctrine." Three new bindings in full brown morocco with raised bands and bright gilt titles on the spines. No edgewear or scuffs, as new. Volume one (Second Edition corrected, with a Supplement, 1766) conforms with Part 1 (4) 233, 4 engraved folding maps at the end; volume 2 (1767 first edition) is the author's Part 2, (6) errata sheet, 152, 5 engraved folding plates at the end; and volume 3, a first edition of 1771 is part 3. (4) 227, errata page.Maps and plates in near fine condition with no foxing or browning. Pages in vol. 2 and 3 and clean and bright; volume one has some minimal soiling and a stain on the title page. (note, this set commonly found without part three.) Quite scarce in this condition..
