Photograph endpapers.Light toning to the pages, otherwise a fine, unmarked coy. Unclipped pictorial jacket has 1/2" triangular chip on the upper front panel. " Well-done history of the Rochester Subway system. The book opens with a chapter on the Erie Canal and then explains how its abandonment in Rochester left a physical route for the new mode of transportation: the interurban. Covers construction, expansion, use and finally the decline and its abandonment in 1956. With chapter on the rolling stock and another on freight transportation by the subway in conjunction with the Erie Railroad. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos (even shows Erie Canal barges navigating through downtown Rochester)." With maps, including foldout one mounted on inside back cover. .
