Very Good-. 3rd printing of this reprint, vg-, no dj; boards a little soiled, foxing starting on endpapers and half-title page, chip to top corner of front pastedown. ASSOCIATION COPY: Has the bookplate of John Bennett Shaw, famed scholar and collector of Sherlock Holmes material, for whom a library at the University of Minnesota is named. Laid in is a handwritten SIGNED letter to Shaw from John Pen LaFarge, the author's son, thanking him for his influence in having a new library in Santa Fe named after his father. Also there are several newspaper articles concerning a controversy that occurred over the dedication. 219 pp.
