Ipswich: W Vick, 1894. Full-Leather. Good/No Jacket (as published). 11.5" x 8. William Vick was a pioneering photographer based in Ipswich and he is famous for recording the town and surroundings. This book records the public buildings churches and streets of Ipswich in 1894. Thee are 50 gilt edges card leaves and each has a 6" x 4" photograph, the format is akin to card-mounted framed photographs of the era. There are 49 photographs and a title page which is signed "W Vick". There are a few marks and some spotting. the photographs have stained the blank facing pages, but the illustrations are all in good order. The binding is intact but the leather binding is worn on the edges, particularly around the spine. There is a previous owner's "ex-libris" book plate inside the front board.
