Hardcover bound in full red leather with cover designs embossed in blind and with spine title and designs in gilt. Moderate wear to the binding. The binding is generally quite sound and attractive, but there is a 1 3/4 inch crack at the bottom of the front hinge near the foot of the spine. All edges gilt. Textured endpapers. There is an early owner's signature on the front flyleaf and the half title. Portrait frontis. The text is sound and clean. Text is in Italian. Giovanni Prati (1815-1887) was an Italian poet and politician. Unusual in the full leather binding.
