Yellow discoloration to the pages throughout this volume. Some notes in opening leaves but text appears to be clear. Gold Gilt to top, side and bottom.Many good quality picture plates in this volume.
Overall: This looks like a copy that has possibly been rebound, it's a shame that the top spine has some damage, otherwise the book generally feels and looks very deluxe.

Bradbury & Evans, 1868. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1868. New Edition. 462 pages. No dust jacket. Green paper covered boards with red cloth and gilt lettering to spine. Contains black and white illustrated frontispiece. Pages are mildly tanned and foxed, heavier to edges, but text remains clear. Binding is firm. Heavy marking to endpapers, with small label to front pastedown. Boards have light shelf-wear, with minor corner bumping and minimal scuffing to edges. Spine is slightly tanned, with noticeable crushing and slight splitting to ends. Gilt remains bright. Moderate rubbing and scuffing overall, with visible marking also. Book has a slight forward lean.
