The Author; no date.. Original Manuscript; Cr. 4to; pp. [iii], 63, 7 (references), 7 (bibliography); biographical note, bound in red cloth, title lettered in gilt on spine, very good copy. Grant was a prolific author writing some 90 books, including many yellow-backs. Many of his 56 novels are about important characters and events in Scottish history. His first novel and possible his best "The Romance of War" appeared in 1845.
