Oxford. Oxford University Press. 1980. Hardcover. Dust Jacket Included. 21.5cm, xvi,382p., with 16 plates, frontis portrait, indexes, dark blue cloth, gilt spine titles, fine in fine jacket (s16). Includes a chronological list of buildings by both James Knowlese, father and son. They were both involved in the building of the Grosvenor Hotel, London, in 1859. The principal subject of this book is the son who bridged the two disciplines of writing and architecture and the author has drawn on hitherto unpublished letters to Tennyson, Gladstone and Huxley.
