Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1884. Hardcover. Fair/No Dust Jacket. 5 x 8 in. FAIR/ NO DUST JACKET. Former library book. 565 p.,gilt edges on pages, index, black and white frontispiece, other portraits in book. Text is clean and unmarked except for library stamp on ffe, pencil inscription on next page, bookplate on following page saying gift of Henry Steele Commager to the library. and another library stamp on back of title page. Spine is broken and many pages are not attached, but they are all there. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. The covers are worn, corners bumped, spine is cracked and quite worn at edges.
