Service & Paton, 1897. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1897. No Edition Stated. 436 pages. No dust jacket. Burgundy cloth with gilt lettering and decorations. Black and white illustrations throughout by F.H.Townsend. Rough-cut edges. Cracking to hinges and gutters causing boards and binding to be loose. However, boards and pages throughout remain attached. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Tears to some pages, affecting text to pages 135-136, text remains readable. Faint brown staining with black marks to some pages. Text is legible. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Visible tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Mild fraying to spine and corners. Water staining overall with noticeable markings. Book has a slight forward lean.
