Internally the contents page is loose and the front hinge is cracked but a clean unmarked copy. Fore and lower edges uncut. Tope edge gilt. Translated by Ellen Marriage with prefaces by George Saintsbury. xiv + 459 pages. Photogravure frontispiece and 4 other illustrations. Comprises The Jealousies of a Country Town - The Old Maid - The Collection of Antiquities and A Marriage Settlement.
