About This Item
London: Jonathan Cape Ltd, 1992. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition first printing. Hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards sharp and clean, with a pressure mark to the top corner. Sharp spine ends, title gilt perfect. Text block clean, with toning to edges. The pages are crisp and unblemished. Feels tight and carefully read. Near fine condition. Jacket is glossy and straight, with light creasing to the top corner of the front panel, that corresponds to the pressure mark on the upper board. Overall a near fine copy. Signed by author to FEP and title page. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. This copy is flat signed to the title page. The FEP carries an author dedication signature and date "To Hugh / With very best wishes / From / Michael M / 31 July 92 / York" Underneath this is "AKA" and doodle of Moorcock's frontier vigilante and the words "The Masked Buckaroo". Also laid in is the original Waterstones "An Evening with Michael Moorcock" invitational ticket, for York. Also laid in is the Michael Moorcock Notes and News for July 1992, a photocopied A4 sheet folded to A5, the front page has details of Orion reprinting of his works, and details of the promotional events Moorcock was undertaking, the interior spread is a reproduction of article about Moorcock's friendship with Angela Dworkin, the rear page has a list of Moorcocks written and musical work. Although it is not clear, this was probably an item given to the attendees to read whilst they were waiting for the event to start. A near fine double signed copy of this Moorcock title, with additional provenance items laid in, a really great volume for a Moorcock collector's shelves.
