About This Item

New York: Random House, 1968. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Hardcover. Teddy Kollek (1911-2007) was the first mayor of reunited Jerusalem from 1965 to 1993. He arrived in Haifa from Vienna in 1935. Early in his career he worked in many European countries to try to negotiate the escape of Jews from Hitler, and subsequently promoted the establishment of an independent Jewish state. Moshe Pearlman (1911-1986) was an Israeli writer whose works included What has been happening in Palestine (1937) and The capture and trial of Adolf Eichmann (1963).
