Material for the book was gathered chiefly from the nineteenth-century minute books of the Dublin Hebrew Congregation and from old directories, newspapers and magazines, epitaphs and obituaries, wills and will abstracts in Somerset House in London and in the Genealogical Office in Dublin Castle, and from early printed sources and manuscripts in Dublin libraries.
