About This Item

London: Oxford University Press, 1956. 1st ed. . Black Cloth. VG-Fine/Good-VG. 14.5 Cm x 22 Cm. xi+235; only flaw I can find is brown strips alongside endpaper gutters offset from jacket wraparounds, covers bright, clean and unworn but I must note a cryptic gilt 'O.C.P.M.' centre spine which looks part and parcel of spine lettering; unclipped jacket (now in protective sleeve) is minimally work but front has two fairly faint brownish grease (?) stains, one top, one bottom roughly 3-4 cms across, also what appears to be some light dusting, which might be removeable with care - ah! It also has O.C.P.M.. printed mid-way down. I now realise that this is short for Oxford Classical & Philosophical Monographs, the series in which this was issued. Jacket remains acceptable despite the faults to front which are hardly dramatic. The first edition of this ground-breaking study by a great Locke scholar is now apparently extremely scarce. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
