Blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine. Bumped spine ends. Top text block edge dusty; out edge just starting to fox. Blue endpaper tanning. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has shelf wear, small amounts of loss, severe chipping to edges, mirrors book damage, price unclipped. 8vo. Priestley has succeeded in conveying to the reader, mainly by added descriptive passages, all that he would have seen at an actual performance at the theatre, and finally added an essay about the writing of the play, of its genesis, of the hazards of its production, critical reception and run at two London theatres. Includes examples of the memorable masks designed by Elizabeth Haffenden.
