Published by the Author, Ithaca N.Y., 1840. 8vo., 400pp., includes large 1838 folding map of Oregon Territory, one full page plate engraving of the Columbia River and a 14 page Vocabulary of Indian Languages - Nez Perce, Klicatat, Calapoosa and Chinook. Parker accompanied the American Fur Company's exploring party of 1835 from Council Bluffs to Walla Walla. The map is the earliest reliable representation of the Oregon interior. Blind embossed dark brown cloth with gilt spine titles. Two small blemishes along the spine cloth, minor age darkening to pastedowns, else very good, pages bright, no foxing, binding strong and tight, map near fine. . Hard.
