Minor soiling and edgewear to covers. Minor soiling to final page of the index at the rear of the volume. One signature unopened. Mild age-toning to paper. Otherwise, a very good copy of a scarce early issue of the historical journal for Quakers, still extant. ~RRR~ Founded in 1903, the Friends' Historical Society aims to promote the study of Quaker history and to further the religious beliefs of the Religious Society of Friends. Holds meetings, publishes research findings and publishes the 'Journal of the Friends' Historical Society.' Articles include: 'An Unpublished Letter of Hannah Penn' by Joseph J. Green; 'Presentations of Quakers in Episcopal Visitations, 1662-1679' by G. Lyon Turner M.D.; 'Early Meetings in Nottinghamshire' by Emily Manners; also 'The Quaker Allusions in 'the Diary of Samuel Pepys'-II, plus others.
