Australia: Parzival XI° O.T.O. Foundation, 1993 - 1996 e.v. A New, Complete, Five Issue Set. From the Publisher: JOURNAL OF THELEMIC SCHOLARSHIP Vol 1, Number 1 Published in 1992 e.v. this issue contains an exposition on the "Thelemic Calendar", an examination of the conventions for Thelemic dating that have developed since the reception of Liber AL vel Legis. This issue also includes "A Functional Outline for the Parzival XI° Foundation Research Council". This article is intended to sketch the basic objectives and methods of the Research Council. The main feature of this issue is "The Revival of Magick" by The Master Therion. It was written as a four-part article for The International and appeared August through November 1917 e.v. Themes in this article were later amplified and expounded on in Magick in Theory and Practice, Crowley's Magnum Opus. JOURNAL OF THELEMIC SCHOLARSHIP Vol 1, Number 2 Published in 1993 e.v. the aim of this issue was to develop a Thelemic perspective on the subject of drug laws. This number contains four articles by Aleister Crowley, which are still quite rare. "Cocaine" (The International – 1917 e.v.), "The Drug Panic" (The English Review – 1922 e.v.), and The Great Drug Delusion (The English Review – 1922 e.v.) relate to A.C.'s comments upon legislation which prohibits the freedom of personal choice in matters of psycho-pharmacology."Concerning Death" (The International – 1917 e.v.) was written by Fr. Baphomet XI° O.T.O. and provides His Initiated insight into the subject matter. This issue also includes an Editorial, Book Reviews and "Letters to the Editor", a letter written by Marcelo Motta to Newsweek, regarding an article they had written on drugs. This letter ties in nicely with the theme of this issue. JOURNAL OF THELEMIC SCHOLARSHIP Vol 1, Number 3 Published in 1994 e.v. this number includes three articles and one poem by Aleister Crowley which are all still rare, even these days. "Felo De Se", from The International, is a short story by A.C., and is an amusing yet profound piece about a young disciple who contemplates suicide and is treated to an evening of dissertation on the subject by a Master of the Law of Thelema. "The Burning of Melcarth", also published in The International, is a short story inspired by Frazier's Golden Bough. "The Purple Mandarin" is the poem mentioned and also appeared in The International. "The Crisis in Freemasonry" is an article that appeared in The English Review. This is an important article which describes in plain language the central secret of Freemasonry from the perspective of an Initiate who researched the matter thoroughly. This issue also includes "His Brother's Keeper" a previously unpublished screenplay by Marcelo Ramos Motta. This issue also has "Reviews". JOURNAL OF THELEMIC SCHOLARSHIP Vol 1, Number 4 Published in 1995 e.v. this is a "Special Issue" of the Journal of Thelemic Scholarship. It contains the three Aquarian Masonry Tracts published by Frater Parzival XI° O.T.O., Mr. Marcelo Ramos Motta. These were originally published in pamphlet form and have long been out of print. "Thelemic Political Morality" describes in clear language what it means to be "politically correct' from a Thelemic standpoint. "Of the Political Aims of the O.T.O." is a treatise upon the concept of intelligent selfishness as the basis for Thelemic Political philosophy. "Letter to a Brazilian Mason" was originally written in 1963 e.v. by Mr. Motta, in response to an Old Aeon Mason, who had claimed that Roman Christism was beneficial to children. This essay is a brilliant exposition of the history of the original Christian current and also includes a devastating analysis of the decadent accretion of Christism, which is mistaken for the true Current by so many. It is a must read for any Thelemic Aspirant. JOURNAL OF THELEMIC SCHOLARSHIP Vol 1, Number 5 Published in 1996 e.v. this was the final issue of Volume one of the Journal of Thelemic Scholarship. Another "Special Issue", this one is called "The New Court of Last Resort: In Defense of Marcelo Ramos Motta and also The Real O.T.O. Succession". Those familiar with the history of the O.T.O. know that McMurtry and others sued Mr. Motta for libel in California back in 1985 e.v. Until now most have only had the "Caliphate's" attempts at revisionist history to describe what happened back then. What most do not know is the true story behind this event. "The New Court of Last Resort" describes the debacle of this court case in detail. Here the court case is examined under a microscope, where Mr. Motta's side of the story is presented. The views of the defendant and the plaintiffs were presented in their own words, as the court-stenographers recorded them in the California District court in 1985 e.v. before a judge called Legge. Mr. Motta's side of the story is presented verbatim from court records that he himself paid for, despite the stenographer's obvious failures to penetrate his accent and generally what the issue was. There is a significant amount of trial testimony offered in support of the main thesis. Other key evidentiary citations are also offered, as well as an important section pointing out some hard truths about Initiation in general. Here, the reader becomes the judge and jury and is asked to weigh the evidence carefully, to decide for themselves. Volumes 1-4 are saddle stitched booklets and the "Special Issue" number 5 is perfect bound.. First Edition. Paperback. New. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Oversized Safely, Securely packed.
