Mylar wrapped dust jacket printed to resemble corkboard, with color photographs of ants to front cover and authors to back; bottom of spine slightly bumped, else like new; very good condition. Green cloth boards with silver stamped lettering to spine, black stamped illustration of six ants marching across front board; dark green endpapers; numerous black and white and color photographs and illustrations throughout; like new; clean, tight copy; fine condition.

Bert Holldobler (b. 1936) is a German zoologist and evolutionary biologist who studies myrmecology, particularly the behavioral ecology and social organization in ants. Edward O. Wilson (1929-2021) was an American biologist, entomologist, and naturalist known for developing the controversial field of sociobiology, a field that posits that animal and human social behavior is biologically determined.
