Kingston, ON: Quarry Press, 1997. Illustrated Wraps. Fine. Biography of the life and work of the self-taught Woodstock, Ontario master painter / sculptor (1907-1995) who became known as "The Greatest Animal Painter in the World". A cattle breeder himself, Butler was commissioned by the Ontario government to paint "true types" of Canadian livestock breeds to be used for agricultural education and breeding purposes. He was instrumental in founding Canada's first artifical insemination cattle facility in Canada. He was also famous for his butter scuptures at Toronto's Royal Winter Fair. 160 pages illustrated in colour and B&W. Oblong 8vo (8 1/4" x 10"). Sale sticker on front cover.
