About This Item

New York, New York: Cameron & Kahn, 1955. Second Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good. In what the publishers believed would come to be "the classic, definitive work" on the alleged crimes, trials, & execution of husband-and-wife Julius & Ethel Rosenberg, this book weighs the voluminous evidence & comes to the conclusion that they were victims of anticommunist fervor that swept the US during the Cold War. In 672 pages with Index, Appendices offer reprints of primary documentary material. Orig. published in June 1955, this is the Second Edition from July of that same year. Hardcover 8vo has a cream-colored cloth-wrapped spine stamped with brown letters & design, with brown cloth over the remaining boards. Condition is VG+: very clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages very mildly tanned around edges, but completely unmarked; dust dulling to outside surfaces. Modest rubbing & darkening to extremities. The unclipped DJ is graced front & spine with a stark woodcut by Rockwell Kent created especially for this edition. Condition is VG, with heavy darkening to spine & minor edgewear & rubbing, light soil; beautifully protected in new mylar cover free!
