Tokyo: Shin Senshaban, 1956. First edition. Hard cover in publisher's slipcase. Text in Japanese. Published Tokyo: Shin Senshaban, 1956, first printing with errata slip laid in. 8vo., 6 1/4" x 8 1/2", 158pp., illustrated throughout with b/w photos. Blue cloth with gilt cover and spine titles. Wear at the spine ends, tips rubbed, light soil spotting to covers, spine titles faded but legible, mild foxing along fore-edges, else very good in very good slipcase. Kazuo Ito (Kodokan 9th Dan) was a personal student of Kyuzo Mifune, and dedicated his life to promoting Judo and traditional Japanese culture. His work significantly helped to restore Judo to the Japanese national education curriculum following WWII. . 1st. Hard. Very Good/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo.
