About This Item
London: Odhams Press Limited, 1933. Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5". None. Edgar Rice Burrough's book set in a forgotten kingdom of the jungles of Cambodia. 'Jungle Girl' is set in the jungles of Cambodia, revolting around a forgotten kingdom 'Pnom Dhek'. The novel is about Gordon King, a young American doctor, who came to Cambodia to study. Edgar Rice Burroughs was a popular author of adventure novels, best known for his character 'Tarzan', on whom the 1999 Disney film was based on. His wrote his first novel, 'Under the Moons of Mars', after suffering from money troubles. Burroughs cashed in on the original success of 'Tarzan' by writing twenty-three sequels. He also dabbled in science fiction, with his character John Carter, a civil war veteran who becomes an adventurer of Mars. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, sound. Slight fading and discolouration to the spine. A little fading to the joints, due to sunning. Light marking and rubbing to the boards and to the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Light spotting to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with the odd scattered spot throughout, mostly due to the spotting to the fore edge. Good
