Washington D.C.: National Geographic, 2001. First Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. As New/As New. 2001 FIRST PRINTING of First Edition. Original grey boards, white cloth spine with silver lettering. SIGNED by Heidi Howkins, the author, in pen on title page. Flawless new condition in flawless dust jacket. Purchased directly from the author at a lecture and signed at that time by the author. Book measures 235mm tall x 155mm, and has 270 pages, 18 color photos. Author's account of her first two attempts to climb K2, the Abruzzi Spur in 1998 and the N Ridge in 2000. Author also recounts her successful ascent of Gasherbrum II in 1996 and nearly successful ascent of Kangchenjunga in 1997. PHOTOS ARE OF THE BOOK BEING OFFERED.
