Colour-illustrations, diagrams throughout, numerous colour plates, diagrams. Colour-illustrated self-printed softcovers, cover art photo of nose of stylish VW Karmann Ghia by Bernd Reuters (1901-1958), whose vivid and eye-catching illustrations propelled enthusiasm for Volkswagen in the post-War era (slight shelfwear, former ownership markings front upper corner), still VG copy stapled as issued. First edition of this very scarce dealer’s brochure for the beautiful and stylish 1960 Karmann Ghia with concept art by Reuters pushing it more towards the 1961 model with the headlights changed. Generated by Ghia’s design studios under Mario Boano & Luigi Segre, drawing from some styling influences of Virgil Exner in his 1955 “Forward Look” styling. The specially crafted body fromthe Karmann coachworks was widened from the Beetle, required nearly hand-construction methods.
