About This Item
GREENAWAY, Kate. Kate Greenaway's Almanack for 1892. [London]: George Routledge & Sons [1891]. 16mo, [24]pp. Color pictorial boards: all edges yellow. Green endpapers; color illustrations on nearly every page. Spine ends and corners lightly rubbed, boards a tad soiled, previous owner's name in pencil on front free endpaper, else an internally clean, bright copy. Signed by the artist, Kate Greenaway, with a small, detailed original watercolor drawing! Rare!
First edition. Kate Greenaway's Almanacks were issued every year from 1883 until 1897 with the exception of 1896, and each contains calendars, lists of holidays, and astronomical information, all wonderfully highlighted by Greenaway's intricately delicate color illustrations. This wonderfully inscribed copy features a charmingly intricate hand-painted watercolor drawing from the artist herself!
