Interior otherwise clean, binding secure. Dust jacket lightly edgeworn and slightly rubbed/soiled, short tear to rear panel repaired with clear tape; in brodart cover. Black-and-white frontis of Meeker shaking hands with Calvin Coolidge, plus black-and-white illustrations throughout.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Brick-red cloth covers, white lettering to cover and spine, tri-color illustration to front cover depicting the Oregon Trail and perhaps Mt. Hood. Illustrated paper dust jacket, protected in Brodart, fully intact, not price-clipped, but with chipping at spine head, minor nicks to spine foot. "The names of the actors in this romance are fictitious; but the characters are as the writer knew them", as the author/publisher writes. Ezra Meeker wrote this work at the age of 95. Book has previous owner's name on front paste down, red fabric covers with landscape illustration are very nice, a couple small tear at the top of the spine and light corner wear. Drawings by Margaret Landers Sanford, et al. Pictorial red cloth stamped in dark green and white. Original owners name and date on endpaper. Slight rubbing to spine ends. A fine copy. A historical novel based on actual characters the author met and real experiences. The author, of Oregon Trail fame, came across the plains in 1852 with his wife and young son to the Puget Sound country. He later retraced the entire trip in the original wagon in the years 1906-1908..
