Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1920. $175.00[a] First edition. Ashby A18.a. Lee A13. Presentation inscription from the author on front free endpaper: "To Edward Canby. Dear Edward: In spite of it's being more than ten years since this story happened (some of it); and about six years since it was written, I still laugh when I look at it. Maybe you will too: and try it on your adorable Sire, who loves to laugh and does so gracefully-you friend, Christopher Morley, November 1m 1923." Edward Canby was the son of Henry Canby, longtime editor of the Saturday Review. A near fine copy.
