From Wikipedia: "Ken was a short-lived illustrated magazine first issued on April 7, 1938. It was a controversial, political, large format magazine with full page photo spreads, published every two weeks on Thursdays." In this first issue are articles on: Allal El Fassi, sharecroppers in the southern U.S., recognition of the Manchukuan empire, alleged framing of Richard Hauptmann, munitions worker's death at Lake Erie Chemical Company, feminine prophylactics, worldwide agrarian unrest, inflation, Ernest Hemingway reporting from Spain on the civil war, Axis secret agents in the Panama Canal Zone, British Intelligence Service, Adolf Hitler's search for a wife, diesel engine manufacturing, Senator William E. Borah's actions against the Anti-Lynch Bill, Mexican's political climate and General Saturnino Cedillo, the Carraway Bill on airline safety, regulating foreign propaganda, the World Bank, torpedo-bearing speedboats, boxing referee Arthur Donavan, and stories by Edward Hunter and Arthur Davison Ficke.
