London: J. & C. Walker, [1840s].. Map dimensions 32.5 x 39 cm, overall 34 x 41 cm. Folding map with original outline colour demarcating the eastern and western halves of the county, the railways overprinted in red, dissected into twelve sections and mounted in linen, folds between original brown cloth boards, publisher's black printed label to the upper cover, printed sheet to the inner cover with information relating to the market towns (market days etc.) plus a distance table. Some light rubbing to the covers, the map paper slightly toned, very good overall. This edition pre-dating the construction of the line between Strood and Dover which appeared in the 1850s.
