He was the only senior German officer to start and finish the Second World War holding a high command appointment. The first complete biography of this complex man who apparently was considered to have had charm, determination and good humor with outstanding training and experience. He was tried for war crimes. Black cloth binding with gilt titles, clean, unmarked book with trace wear to spine head and heel. Solid, square volume. Rough cut. Internals clean, unmarked, no creases. Jacket clean and bright, scuffed around spine head and heel, light wear to some corners. The jacket illustration shows a squadron of Focke-Wulff 190 fighters. 272 pages with bibliography and index. 8.5 x 5.5 inches. David McKay Company, Inc., New York, 1978.
