About This Item

London England: George G. Harrap & Co., 1946. In the thirteenth century, when ships from the Cinque Ports ventured all along the coasts of Europe, even into the pirate-infested Mediteranean, Rye was at the height of its prosperity and importance. The Ryers who, as Brethren of the Ports, were traditional Keepers of the Keys of England, staunchly upheld their ancient rights and privileges, and fought for the side which, to them, stood for justice and freedom. But this book is realy the story of one of Rye's most famous captains, Garth Aylwin, and his love for Rosamund, daughter of Roger Farr, Baliff of Rye. Slight foxing to edge. Slight mark to front cloth. Slight wear and tear to D/J.. Reprint. Cloth. Very Good/Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Hardback.
