Includes unbound printing of her article "How to Have, Hold, or Free Oneself of a Lover," Pamphlet "Plants Used by the Mexican Kickapoo Indians" reprinted from Economic Botany, 1977, SIGNED correspondence four signed letters, one from Mexico, newspaper clippings regarding her and her husbands work among the Kickapoo Indians at El Nacimiento, 8x10 glossy b/w photograph of both authors. 15 items.
Mrs. Latorre was born in Spain, her husband was a native of Chile, they were internationally recognized ethnologists. They lived in a restored historic home in Austin. Their books include The Mexican Kickapoo Indians researched while they lived in Musquiz from 1960 - 1972, it was published by the University of Texas Press in 1976. They also wrote a book on Cooking and Curing with Mexican Herbs published by the Encino Press in 1977. This interesting collection was from the estate of Ella K. Dagget Stumpf, long time resident and preservationist of San Antonio history.
