About This Item
London: John Lehmann, (1947). First edition. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper is finely illustrated by Robert Medley and is without notable wear aside from a slight tear at the tail of the spine. It has not been price clipped and shows the original '5s. net.' price. The boards are free from notable chips and marks. The rough-cut text blocks are free from foxing. The author's signature, inscribed to Ruth Herschberger, the author of 'Adam's Rib', reads: "For Ruth Herschberger, if she will have him. This very little kid pro quo from Conrad Aiken, March 1948". Overall, this is a near fine copy with a fine provenance.
