The text is illustrated with numerous advertisements for patent medicines and treatments, black-and-white illustrations and historical photographs. Illustrated paperback binding with black and purple coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Quoting from the rear panel "... A graphic picture of medical eccentricity in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Kill or Cure is the study of decent men who fought for unpopular beliefs; of likeable villains  and a fair number of unmitigated scoundrels; of strange electrical devices and weird diagnostic procedures." Minor creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels. Fading of the back strip. There is a small chip to the lower right-hand corner of the back strip and there is minor age toning of the text block edges. Large triangular crease to the top right-hand corner of the front panel.
